Temporary License is issued in an emergency situation only. The Temporary License is issued to the facility as well as the individual and cannot be transferred to other nursing homes. To qualify for a Temporary License you must be licensed in another state or you minimally meet the qualifications to enter into the Administrator In Training (AIT) Program. Temporary Licenses are issued in the Board Office on an "as needed" basis.
Holding a Temporary License does not qualify you to have a permanent license as a Nursing Home Administrator. It is a totally separate process from applying for Reciprocity/Endorsement or the Administrator In Training (AIT) Program. Please note that you cannot be an AIT and Temporary Licensee at the same time.
It is very important that the candidate read all the Rules and Statutes on this website prior to submitting any application or form to the Board.
