The primary purpose of the Board
is to license nursing home administrators in accordance with the rules
and regulations set forth in North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 90,
Medicine and Allied Occupations; Article 20; Nursing Home Administration
Act. The Board is responsible for developing, imposing and enforcing standards
that must be met by individuals in order to be licensed as nursing home
administrators. The Board is also responsible for developing guidelines
for the AIT program to ensure AIT applicants have the proper training
and experience prior to licensure. In accordance with NCGS 90-285.1, the
Board may suspend, revoke or refuse to issue a license or reprimand a
license after due notice with substantial evidence of an improper act.
